They have to buy out one. Right now the Flyers are two million over the cap. During the summer you can only be 6 million over the cap. League allows summer cap to be like that. So unless Streit signs for 4 million or less than the Flyers will need to make a move.

Flyers made a good move. They buyout Briere, put Pronger on LTIR. They will have a healthy dcore, that looks pretty good next season.

Why would you buy you Bryz when you finally have a healthy core like that in front of him, They could easily trade up for Nurse, and have Cousins waiting in the weeds. This potential signing just gives them a lot more options now this summer

Mez will likely be dumped for more cap room. No flyers fans will like the deal he signs but theres no doubt it makes the team better. The fact is the flyers are pretty desperate for a defensman with puck moving ability like Streit
